TTUs
From Development to Commercialization.
Transfer-to-usability (TTU) projects help bridge the gap between applied research and commercialization by supporting concept or prototype development.
TTUs typically arise as the second phase of a research project previously funded by PRAC, but may have also developed outside of PRAC and need assistance in further development toward commercialization.
Applying for TTU Funding
Individual researchers may apply if they feel their research has commercial potential, however they must provide proof of concept that will garner the interest from the receptor/investor community prior to investment in the project.
Individual companies may also apply if in-house "applied research" has been completed and assistance is needed in fabricating a working model that can be presented to ultimate stakeholders.
These projects are generally developed through ongoing relations between researchers and receptor companies. Commercialization of the product will occur in a subsequent phase funded by organizations other than PRAC.
