EMINENT SPEAKER GRANTS
PRAC offers grants to Atlantic Canadian not-for-profits and educational institutions to support costs associated with hosting internationally- recognized speakers in subject areas relevant to the region's petroleum industry. 
Awards of up to $2,000 per speaker are available on a first come, first served basis. Grants generally cover 50% of eligible costs (a higher percentage may be provided in exceptional circumstances).
ELIGIBILITY
Speakers must be recognized as international experts in a petroleum-related field. The target audience should be researchers, students (undergraduate or graduate), faculty, petroleum industry or supply and service sector personnel, government and others who will directly benefit from participation.
Applicants are encouraged to collaborate with other institutions or organizations in the region so that speakers may share their knowledge with participants at several venues.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Grant applications will be considered and succesful applicants notified within 15 days of receipt of the grant application. The criteria used are as follows:

The international reputation of the speaker The subject matter and its relevance to the region

The target audience (numbers and expected composition)

Expected value from having the speaker address the audience

Funding requested and other sources of funding support

Collaboration with other institutes or venues

Number of applications submitted and funding already provided to the institute during the year
PAYMENT & CLAIMS
Claims are to be made in writing and sent to PRAC with supporting receipts for expenses incurred on behalf of the speaker(s). Costs will be reimbursed at the percentage indicated at the time the application is approved to the stated maximum.
Eligible costs include: airfare, ground transportation, hotels, meals, incidentals and honoraria. Federal government of Canada travel policies will be used as the guide for the amounts claimed, as listed at http://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca.
